Nothing propelled fame and sales of this TA until the 1977 film, " Smokey and the Bandit" was released. The Trans Am was the star of the film even though it had some famous actors such as Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jackie Gleason, and Jerry Reed. The movie shows off all of this Trans Am's features. The roar of the V8 400 cid / 200 bhp., the deep black paint flourished with the iconic gold eagle on the hood, gold pinstripping accenting the body lines, and those familiar kalidescope gold wheels. The cockpit looks every bit like a muscle car's capsule. Machine turned dash facing is a special touch. Check out the removed T-tops that creates that open air feeling when this TA rockets down the road at over 110 mph. You could buy this Trans Am in 1977 for a cool $5456 and 68745 buyers placed orders. I can't think of a better suited car to star in a movie and I can't think of a better muscle car than these Trans Ams. Thanks very much for viewing the star of the movie, the 1977 Pontiac Trans Am.
