Now about three weeks ago I bought my first Trans Am, I'm 17, not that car-savvy, and I have had the worst luck with this car in the past three weeks since owning it. Well here's the story so far. I bought the car from a small dealership, you know, one of the ones you should stay away from. The car was a decent buy, $4000 for a LT1, 120k miles. I testdrove the car on two separate occasions before buying, I had a mechanic come out and personally inspect it, it looked like a steal, so I bought it with all the money I had saved from working. The day I bought the 1994 Trans Am, I hadn't owned the car for fifteen minutes, while driving it home on the interstate in 6 o-clock traffic, the engine suddently cuts off and I loose all pressure in the gas peddal, to make it even better, I was in the center lane of traffic on the interstate, and it was raining like hell. Got the car towed to my house, waited an hour, car started beautifully. Took the car back to the machanic the next day, stalled out half-way, started up a bit rough after ten minutes, shut it off, got it towed the rest of the way there. Machanic "Supposedly" put on a new fuel filter, and I hadn't had a problem since. (Other crap that happened, however now repaired.) I told the machanic to do an oil change and replace the filter, so the machanic over-flowed my oil, which could've meant an engine rebuild, and rounded out the plug, so the next time I started it up, my oil plug shot out, and I had a five foot wide puddle of oil beneath my car. Of which my machanic fixed for free. Installed subwoofer, moron wired it backwards, drained the battery, had to buy a new battery and put it in. $70 Anyways, I drove the car about five times since, I drove to homecoming, I drove a few girls around, and it acted fine, yet two nights ago I went to start the car. Car started. drove about five feet then conked out again. Any suggestions? (Miscilianias things.) Before I owned this car, it's had about three owners before.. Carfax is clean, but here's some things that I've known been done to it. The exhaust system is straight pipe, no catalytic converter, the cars been lowered to three inches off the ground, and it has a cool-air intake system on it.
